How to access Apple ID accounts by my wife when I die?

How to access Apple ID accounts by my wife when I die? Apple notes says they cannot help if my wife doesn't know the password. What help can they provide?

She contact Apple. They need to see a copy of the death certificate and a copy of the will or a document that shows you inherited it.


How to request access to a deceased family member's Apple accounts - Apple Support.    


Either take the device, the above paperwork, and a photo ID to the nearest Apple Store (if it has reopened)

I don't know what help Apple personnel can provide. All suggestions are how to contact Apple and have proof of death, etc. but since Apple has denied being able to help the FBI or anyone else crack the password on a Mac or iPhone, what help can they provide to my wife?? It doesn't seem they can help with anything if the iPhone or Mac is locked with a password.
