How can I change my Apple ID from my deceased spouses iPhone to my Apple ID?

I’m wanting to change the phone Apple ID stored on the phone to mine but my spouse passed away and the backup is not working

iPhone XS, iOS 13

You'll need to sign out of the Apple Id in Settings->Account(top of Settings) and sign in with your own.


If you don't know your spouse's Apple ID password, see here: link->How to request access to a deceased family member's Apple accounts - Apple Support


Once you have access to the account you can remove their ID from it.
