Giving old iPad away

I have an older iPad that I want to give to my grandchildren, I have purchased some apps for them on it in the past that I'd like to keep on it for them. Is there a way for me to delete all my info but keep the kids apps and change the Apple ID associated with the iPad or do I have to give them my Apple ID, delete everything from the cloud and get a new Apple ID for my new iPad.

thanks

I suggest you do the steps in the article below to make it 'their' iPad. It will also help prevent future problems.

Selling/Giving Away Device.

Then create a new ID for them and set up family sharing to share the apps with them.

If 13 years old or older.

Apple ID - create a new.

Apple ID – Create

If under 13 years old, you will need to set up Family Sharing to create an ID.

Family Sharing and Apple ID for your child.

Family Sharing.
