Update iphone with no service issues

Hi,

My 7 plus suddenly have a problem.

when i insert my sim card, its only searching and stuck at no service.

Already tried to change to another provider, but still the same problem. Also tried to reset network setting, nothing change.

I read some articles, maybe my baseband ic broken.

I have some question:

can i update my iphone to newest ios? Now still on 13.4.1..theres notification about to update to 13.5.1.
can i do a factory reset?

i'm affraid when i do that two thing, my iphone will stuck at activation failed screen. (Not activation locked because no icloud issues)

iPhone 7 supports 13.5.1.

Reset your network settings, and try again.

Check with other devices using the same carrier, and check with your carrier around coverage.

Unlikely to be the cause here as this usually shows different errors, but... If your iPhone is carrier locked, either unlock it, or use a SIM for the same carrier.

Upgrade to 13.5.1? It’s worth a try.

You’re running through he things Apple is going to ask about if (when?) you call them, after all.

Have a backup, as always.

Yes, already tried reset network setting and use another sim, but still the same.

before, no matter what sim i use, the signal shows normally. Its unlocked.

is it okay if i update the ios? I mean with this issue. I'm affraid it stuck when the ios try to update the baseband/modem section..
