I purchased an Ipad from someone online. They did not erase the contents of the Ipad. When I try to reset and erase everything it will not let me without their apple ID password. How can I reset the ipad?

I’m sorry but you can’t. You were sold a useless device.

If you can get your money back. that is the activation lock and there is no way around it
