I don’t see Touch ID on my device, nor Face ID. Only Passocde.

Why can’t I see Touch ID or Face ID? I only see Passcode and cannot create a fingerprint or an appearance.

iPad Air, iOS 12

If you have a first generation iPad Air, it does not have Touch ID, or Face ID.
