AGMService? Uses a lot of processor power and heats up Mac

There was a thred about this, but it was closed, but same thing. What is AGMservice? It uses a lot of processor power in the MacBook Pro. Every time the MBP heats up and the fans start running, you look in the Activity Monitor, there is an AGM service, even if no Adobe programs are open. The weirdest thing is that when you open it, it disappears almost immediately from the top of the list and stops working, every time.

Hey there, johannes287.

Welcome to the Apple Support Communities! From what you mentioned, it sounds like you're having some system performance trouble dealing with AMGService on your Mac.

Processes like that generally run in the background when associated apps are installed. You mentioned Adobe so it sounds like you have narrowed down the potential app or apps that could be reliant on this piece of software. In a lot of cases, removing that service or process requires that you remove the software as well. If you're wanting to remove those apps in hopes of removing that process, check out Install and uninstall apps from the internet or disc on Mac.

You also narrowed this down to Adobe apps as you said, so if you want to continue using these apps, you might want to reach out to them directly to see about getting more info. You can get started here: Contact Customer Care - Adobe

Take care.
