2015 MacBook Air will not charge A battery
A friend of mine has a MacBook Air from 2015 that is having charging issues. I haven't found a solution to this combination of symptoms online.
When you plug the computer in, it will run off of the power source, but it says that the "battery is not charging." Both the computer and the charger register that they are connected. The computer shows a little lightning bolt over the battery symbol in the upper right corner of the screen and the charger shows an Amber LED. The battery power percentage doesn't appear to ever drop as long as it's plugged in. if you unplug it, the laptop will begin running off of battery without a glitch.
I have tried multiple chargers that I know work perfectly. I tried resetting the SMC. I bought a new battery, because I needed one for my 2014 MacBook Air anyway. The laptop behaved exactly the same with a brand new battery.
I have no real experience working on computers, so I am at a loss. I saw recommendations about replacing the logic board or the SMC chip (if that's even possible). Does anyone have any idea what else to try or replace?
