iPhone drops Wi-Fi connection

Turn Wi-Fi on correct network is selected, Wi-Fi icon briefly appears but then is replace by "LTE," spinning wheel icon next to these letters. Never does re-establish Wi-Fi service, although interesting enough I do receive email. It's an iPhone SE (original). Network is one I use for both iPhone and iMac (not having any connection problems with it).

Restarted the iPhone. Also, did reset of Network settings. Cellular service is okay (calls, email, browsing the internet, etc.).

Greetings VALman,

Thanks for visiting the Apple Support Communities! It seems your iPhone is unable to stay connected to Wi-Fi.

Have you had a chance to restart your router and modem? You can see that suggestion in the following article: If your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch won’t connect to a Wi-Fi network - Apple Support

If the issue persists, test with a different Wi-Fi network:

"Try connecting to a Wi-Fi network in a different location. If your device can connect, you need to get help with your Wi-Fi network. If your device can’t connect to any Wi-Fi networks, contact Apple."

Kind regards.
