Notifications on my Apple Watch

My watch and phone are both updated. However, my watch is no longer receiving notifications and I am missing a lot of phone calls and text messages when I am working. I made sure both my devices have the bluetooth turned on, the wifi is on, and my watch is connected to my phone. I am receiving notifications for all of my other apps on my watch except calls and text messages. I feel as though I am to the point of having to reset my watch and repair it but I REALLY REALLY do not want to do that. Anyone have any suggestions??

Hi, bnphillips11.

Thank you for reaching out on the Apple Support Communities. It sounds like you’ve been experiencing an issue where your notifications for text messages and phone calls aren’t reaching your Apple Watch.

First, make sure that your notifications are set up correctly, and that you’re aware of how notifications are delivered amongst your devices. For example, if you have your iPhone unlocked, your notifications are going to appear on your iPhone only. If your iPhone is locked and your Apple Watch is on your wrist with Wrist Detect enabled, you should be receiving those notifications on your watch.

We also want to make sure that you’re aware that unpairing and pairing your Apple Watch again shouldn’t cause any data loss. It may take a little while to unpair and pair again, but presuming your use iCloud backups on your iPhone, a backup is automatically created. When you restore your Apple Watch you can opt to restore the backup. This process can resolve many issues.
