AirPods 1st Generation acting extremely strange
(Believe it or not, this is actually my 3rd time I bought AirPods 1st generation (absolute wow!) in as little as just 4 years - the first AirPods I ever had was a gift in Christmas 2016; the second pair I bought was perhaps in April 2017 because I left my AirPods (in the charging case) in the rain on accident near my tire swing I ride sometimes; and the third AirPods pair was in Christmas 2018 because the 2nd pair had the charging case completely lost (probably in my friend's car - also on accident)).
However, this issue is very different. And the issue stems for the fact they are seemingly having some pretty (at least in my eyes) severe connectivity issues. I actually took a nap with my AirPods at one point today after watching anime on my iPhone 7 Plus. And a few hours later, after I woke up, I decided to listen to some music - and then I had a strange (and rare?) issue: I started received static from the right AirPod in my right ear, whereas the left AirPod in my left ear was only giving static and buzzing/crackling, and then the left AirPod gave no audio. Then I disconnected and re-connected both AirPods, and now the left AirPod is not working and only the right AirPod works and gives out audio. I even tried resetting the AirPods from 15 seconds on the back of the AirPods case and that didn't work. Even did so again, but instead I tried for 30 seconds. Still no luck. Even cleaned the ear-wax out of them. Tried everything I possibly could. Nothing works! Quite upsetting indeed, considering I spent almost $140-$160 on AirPods 1st generation, again in just under 4 years due to accidents. I'm quite a klutz-ball with certain things I physically own and physically use, I'm not gonna lie.
I’m going to Estes Park, CO next week as of July 11th and will be back in Kansas City (where I currently live) on July 19th and I do NOT want to end up with a poor experience with my AirPods in my grandfather’s lodge/cabin all because of this. Absolutely no way. And even though I have EarPods with a lightning connector (which only work on iPhone models without a headphone jack afaik) that I have because I had my 7 Plus for a while, I do NOT use the EarPods at all because I use my AirPods more than anything I listen to audio with right now. I may have to end up buying a new pair of AirPods on September 26th, which is my birthday and would make a great present, but that’s the last resort (I may buy the AirPods that came out in early 2019 as I don't really see myself ever using AirPods from 2016 again, and can do just fine with the AirPods from 2019, which costs almost $200; the AirPods Pro is just too expensive even as a birthday gift for me and $250 is quite pricy for AirPods that I don't consider a good fit for me).
Please let me know how I can resolve this (admittedly somewhat asinine) issue.
Thank you!
