Display switches off when opened more than 45 degrees

This is probably caused by a damaged flex cable due to a design flaw in the Macbook Pro (flexgate). Apple has set up an extended warranty program for the 2016-models. Bring in your MacBook to The Apple Store and they should fix it for you (entire screen replacement because the cable is soldered to the screen). I had the exact same issue as you, 2017 model as well but sadly they do not cover it under their warranty program which doesn’t make sense. i paid RM2,240 which equivalent to 522 USD. the issue is called ‘flexgate’.

They told me my model year hasn’t been affected by flexgate but when i searched it online, tons of people got the same problem but they still yet to acknowledge it. Super frustrating
