I am using lower thirds to put song lyrics into a video. I put the words in, and make sure the text is lined up, centered, etc. It looks fine on the preview. But, when I export to create the video file, the text has moved to a different configuration on the final video. What am I doing wrong?
I could not reproduce the problem on my mac, with a few different export settings, and a few different fonts...
What version of FCP? I seem to vaguely remember something like this quite some time ago, but not recently.
Are you using 10.4.8?
You may try deleting preferences, just in case.
To delete preferences, hold down command and option while starting FCP X and click Delete Preferences.
The application will start in a default state, and open an "Untitled" library. Reopen the library you were working on, set the preferences the way you like them, and try again.

Which title exactly are you using? What are the project properties? What are the export settings? In what way is the text moving?
What exact title? What are the project settings and the export settings?
Please post screenshots illustrating how the title looks in the timeline and on export.
I'm using 10.4.8. I'm only 3 weeks into learning this program.
I deleted preferences, and while I don't need to export the file again, it did seem to readjust the text to center. Hopefully that will work moving foward. Thank you!

I deleted the videos that were egregious, but here's a screen shot that shows a little: first shot is where I had to manually move the text so it would show up centered on the exported file (second shot). Also, when I try to make the text box wider to accommodate longer phrases , it always adjusts it back, throwing off the text.
