I am so mad.... I updated to catalina now half of my apps don't work....powerpoint, my printer.... can I go back to my original software?

How can I upgrade to Catalina and still use my old apps like final cut pro etc.? without buying new apps. I upgrade to Catalina from Mojave the a little while back and it wouldn't let me use my final cut pro anymore. it said I had to buy it again. what? how cn I upgrade to Catalina and still use my apps without having to buy them again? this is rediculous
