Why would it show “sent from web” on a text message I sent to someone else?

I mainly use my iPhones texting to communicate but it was brought to my attention that my messages were being received with “sent from web” under it. Why would this happen?

if you go to settings, messages, send & receive.. down toward the bottom there is a selection 'start new conversations from'.. what is checked? is it your phone number or an email address? Your phone number should be checked

Thanks! So I went to settings>messages and then > send and receive.... my number is checked. However does it make a difference above that says I can send and recieve these iMessages, so when would it want or need to send to another phone. (Especially when other message to same person, is not saying “sent from web” Could it be their settings on their phone??
