battery count cycle

is it normal for my MacBook Pro (Retina, 15-inch, Mid 2014) count cycle to be at 870?

Depending on how you use the battery, it could be perfectly normal. If you often charge the battery, then use it on battery power for extended periods, it would account for a high number of cycles.
