I've been having hearing problems. If I connect my AirPods to Apple TV, I can hear the dialog great, but then, no sound comes out of the speakers. So, that solution only works when I'm watching alone. Is there a way around this? Sound through the AirPods AND TV speakers at the same time?
Such dual audio output is not supported on Apple TV.
Some TVs (examples) or AV receivers may support outputting to both the speakers and headphones at the same time.
Another solution I can think of is to split the optical audio output. Connect a soundbar to one output and a headphone transmitter to the other.
You may need the audio to be set to PCM Stereo for this to work (lowest common denominator).

Thanks! I'll have to explore our TV & AV receiver specs. The TV is "smart" but a few years old. Interesting that you mention a sound bar. I've been looking at one made by Bose that claims to enhance dialogue. :)
