Malware chrome search engine
I have an issue with my chrome search engine, I can't modify it. I've tried to remove the malware with Malwarebytes but it just solved the problem with the pop adds.

Hey there Daniella1203,
Thanks for reaching out to Apple Support Communities. We understand you’re having an issue using the search engine in Chrome. We’ll be happy to help with this.
If running Malwarebytes didn’t resolve this issue, make sure macOS is up to date:
How to update the software on your Mac
If that doesn’t help, uninstall Chrome from your Mac:
How to delete apps on your Mac
Restart your Mac after and reinstall Chrome. See if this helps at all:
How to turn your Mac on or off
We hope this helps.
Take care.
Hey Daniella1203,
Thanks for going through those steps. Do you know the name of the malware that’s installed? If you know the name, it may be possible to find the steps for that specific program and remove it. You may also be able to find some helpful steps in this article:
Remove unwanted ads, pop-ups & malware
If you don't know the name of the process causing the issue in Chrome, you can reinstall macOS and see if this has any impact on the issue. Though this shouldn’t erase your settings or data, it may still be a good idea to back up your Mac:
Regards.
Seems clear to me, some adware keeps setting the Chrome search engine to something she does not want.
You are not real clear on exactly what is happening that is a problem. Malwarebytes did exactly what it was supposed to do. It will not deal with viruses, if that's what you are concerned about. That said, your Mac does not, will not get any viruses. It has built in protection to disallow them. I suggest you read the following and then tell us how we can help you.
