Family sharing mistake

My husband has loads of both itunes-purchased and uploaded music, videos, and the like on his iMac. He used to be the organizer of our family sharing (just the two of us). But I seem to remember changing the family sharing to me as organizer and him as "adult.". Now, we have a new AppleTV 4th gen and when trying to play music from his library, the apple tv will only connect to my library.

Is there anything I can do to "right" this wrong without either one of us losing access to the other's stuff?

Sharing music in various ways has benefits and limitations in various ways.

  • Family Sharing for iTunes Store purchases requires the activation of the Purchase Sharing option.
  • An iTunes Match subscription doesn’t support Family Sharing.
  • An Apple Music subscription does support Family Sharing, while each account still has their own library.
  • Home Sharing requires connecting with the same Apple ID account for Home Sharing as the sharing Mac uses. The Home Sharing account is a separate account setting, unrelated to iTunes Store, App Store or iCloud.

Please be specific about what you are trying.

But I seem to remember (organizer) …

You should know who the organizer is. You can look it up, e.g. on your iPhone in Settings﹥[Your Account] Apple ID﹥Family Sharing. There is no changing of organizer method, other than disbanding the group and setting it up again differently.
