Face ID: How many faces can be registered on a single iPad Pro?

My wife and I want to buy an iPad Pro for both of us. But with Face ID, one of us won't be able to use the iPad when the other is away—is this correct? Or can the iPad Pro be set up to recognize two different faces?

I think Face ID is only one face

Use Face ID on your iPhone or iPad Pro - Apple Support

What you can do, if the device supports Touch ID, is use that and each of you set up one or two fingerprints each (always good to have a second finger set up in case of injury)

And to use either system you have to use a passcode so that may be a secondary way to have dual acces...use one face and the other person uses the passcode
