Apple Mail

Mail constantly hanging On my Mac. Won’t download emails I have from today that I can see on my iPad and iPhone. Have to force quit Mail on the Mac.

constant note left base about moving messages that takes forever to clear.

How do I get it to work efficiently?

iMac 21.5″, macOS 10.13

First...

Safe Boot from the HD, (holding Shift key down at startup), does the problem occur in Safe Mode?

Safe mode attempts to repair Disks & clears lots of caches, so if Safe Mode works try again in regular boot.

Any change?
