HDCP is an encryption method for (mainly) HDMI, for commercial content that requests HDCP for their content.

HDCP requires an end-to-end (from decoder to screen) secure digital signal, that can’t be captured or converted.

HDCP will not work with analog converters.

HDCP is not a feature of the HDMI cable. All HDMI cables support HDCP. HDCP is a feature of the devices.

HDCP requires that all devices in between decoder (Apple TV) and screen (TV) also support HDCP.

Please describe your setup for further assistance.
