Mail - Notification Sounds

From your post, it would appear that you want to turn off mail notification sounds on your Mac. We want to help. From the photo you shared, the setting looks correct for not getting a sound with a notification. Please look at this article that has all the steps to Change General preferences in Mail on Mac - Apple Support.

You can change the sound to “None” next to the “New messages sound” option.
