Laggy Facebook (Safari)

Hello, since recent Facebook layout redesign, Safari has been REALLY laggy. It types really slow and it continues to type after I stop pressing the keys.

Meanwhile in Chrome this doesn't happen.

I prefer Safari as a browser but this issue is getting annoying, is there any way to fix it or report it to Apple so they can patch it?

Chrome: Fast

I'm using a late 2018 MBP 15" inches, 16gb ram so hardware shouldn't be an issue because it's fairly new.

I'm using Mojave 10.14.6 and the latest version of Safari 13.0.1

Any help would be really appreciated

I am the OP and found a partial fix. Right click on the URL window and select settings for this webpage and turn off auto play videos. This has made Facebook at least tolerable and scrolling is smoother though it still has small hiccups on occasion it's much better than it was.

I have a late 2013 Mac Pro running Big Sur and facebreath is choppy as a lumberjack .

Same for me...2018 MBP i9 32gb RAM MacOS 10.15.1Safari 13.0.3. I get that banner across the top about FB using too much memory or something. Chrome works fine.

You can turn off the online status and chat via the Mac messenger app. Makes it a little smoother.

Same for me, very laggy and then becomes unuseable. Had the issue on High Sierra and I have the same issue on Big Sur. 2019 Macbook Pro.

Works fine on Safari.

I have same exact problem on a top of line 2020 Mac book pro with 32gig of ram. what is going on? this is ridiculous. I didn't spend 4500$ for simple things to lag.
