AppleTV

I tried today to join AppleTV+, with a promised one-year free subscription as I had purchased a MacBook Air. I retrieved the e-mail I got from Apple advising me of the one-year offer, it was sent to me on the same day that the product shipped to me- April 9 of this year. I had already found that I needed to activate this offer within 90 days of receiving the product, so today being July 5, I thought I was right near that 90 day limit- it was 88 days since April 9. However, I couldn’t find the 90 day offer when I opened the AppleTV app, so I chatted with an Apple Advisor today, who asked for the receipt of the on-line order.

I was advised that the 90 day offer began on March 19, the day I ordered and paid for the MacBook Air. In other words, the 90 day window included the manufacturing time- not to mention the additional shipping time. The manufacturing time (March 19 through April 9) is 21 days, almost 25% of the 90 days. I’m very disappointed that a company producing so much excellence could do this.

I would be interested in anyone else has been affected similarly. Thanks.

This is incorrect on many fronts. The offer is valid for three months from the moment of first registering the new product. That is, setting it up with an Apple ID account. The moment of ordering is not relevant. Not even the moment of receiving the product.

Apple TV+ - One Year Offer - Apple

Thanks for the replies. An update- after contacting on-line support again today, and the advisor seeking help from higher up, they finally said that the offer of AppleTV + commences on the date of purchase. If you buy from a store then you get the device on the date of purchase, but for an on-line purchase (as in my case) the machine is still to be assembled on the date of purchase. However, they did renew the offer for the 1 year subscription to AppleTV + from today (redeemed through the App Store). I guess they felt sorry for me! Thanks again .

Don't have a specific proof for the offer, but things like warranty, AppleCare, etc, all start on the shipping date. Suggest calling Apple again, perhaps the first agent made a mistake.

As to the offer, you need to log into Apple TV with the same Apple ID that the MacBook was registered with.
