i-Pad pro: 128gb or 256gb?

Hi all,

I am in the process of choosing an i-Pad. I work as graphic designer, I am an adobe user, and normally work with Indesign, Photoshop and Illustrator. I have been spending more and more time creating content for the web, drawings and small animations using after effect. Reason why I believe it's time to have an i-Pad to accelerate the process and to draw directly on the i-Pad using the Apple pencil.

This will be my first i-Pad. I have been reading reviews and asking around. It seems that choosing an i-Pad Pro would be the wiser decision. My budget is tight tough, and I am trying to save money on whatever possible.

I would go for the 11inch since I have already a 13inch Laptop.

The last decision is how much memory should I need?

I can use the Adobe cloud, I have already the Apple cloud, so the memory on my new i-Pad just would need to be enough to use the apps I need: adobe photoshop, draw, procreate and possibly anything else I might discover for drawing and animate.

What would you suggest? Do you think that saving this 100pounds and go for a 128gb is it worthy, or might I regret not having purchased the 256gb in the future?

Any thoughts from designers, users and professionals, it would be very welcome.

Thanks,

E

Consider this...

Whatever internal storage configuration you choose is with the iPad for its entire usable life. Internal storage cannot be upgraded.

If you are working with graphics files, 128GB is usable - but can be consumed quite quickly. The best advice is to buy a device with as much internal storage as you can afford. Rarely will you hear complaints of having too much internal storage - but you’ll find many and regular complaints of having chosen a device with too little - and no means to upgrade without device replacement.

Better to have more than you need - than to need more than you have.

My personal advice - 256GB as a minimum, 512GB if you can stretch.
