Satellite imagery is always blurry in a specific area

Hi!

I've noticed an area of Maps is always blurry in satellite view (see attachment), no matter how much I turn my iPhone on and off and mess with the settings. This area is also blurry in the Mac app, which led me to believe it's a problem with Apple Maps.

This also affects other apps which depend on Apple Maps too. I have an iPhone XS Max running iOS 13.5.1

This is around the area of Almada, Portugal if it matters.

The military facility you mention is less than 10% of the blurred area, the rest of which also happens to be one of the most densely populated areas of the country.

Even if you blur only the military base (which is clear in Google Maps, for example), the rest of the area has hundreds of thousands living there (completely public areas) which would certainly appreciate if Apple reconsidered the decision.

Hi,

I think you answered your own query with Google. Please understand this is a User Community forum and not Apple employees or support staff.

We try to help with technical and knowledge issues but we can not affect Apple policy on their decisions. Apple Support options are currently limited during this unprecedented time and while we sympathize with your issue, it maybe something Apple has no control over because of agreements with the Portuguese government.

Best of luck
