Apple TV crashing consistently when trying to play certain content

I recently purchased a new Apple TV 4K and moved my older Apple TV HD to a different room. Now the older HD unit is crashing regularly, and the crashes always seem to be related to the content I am trying to play. For example, I tried to play the movie Midsommar on the Prime app, and it crashed every time it tried to start the movie. I tried to play S1 E1 of The Wire on the HBO Max app, and again it crashed every time. Lots of other things stream just fine. The HD unit never had any issues until I moved it to the other room. It's plugged into ethernet, as it was before. Both TVs are LG models, but not the same model. I assume the problem has something to do with the LG TV, not the Apple TV unit, since the Apple TV unit had no issues in the other room.
