How would i fix slow performance on mac os mojave

If all else fails, I would backup, remove all unnecessary peripherals, make a bootable Mojave flash installer, erase the whole internal SSD device as APFS & GUID, do a clean install and see if the problem persists after resetting SMC and PRAM.
