Moving Country: Apple ID Payment Method Issue

Hello,

I have had my Apple ID for over ten years and would like to keep my purchases and the data in my Cloud when I move to another country.

However, there are a couple of issues I am encountering. In order maintain my cloud subscription, I obviously need a new payment method, since I won’t have a bank account in my country of origin anymore, but solely in the country where I am moving.

So when trying to enter my new credit card info, it automatically leads me to changing the iTunes Store as the country of the credit card seems to be linked to the country of the iTunes Store one is accessing.

Now, I am prevented from changing the country as long as my subscriptions are still running. One of my subscriptions however is my cloud, which I don’t want to cancel (as I am not sure if I will loose any of my data) also I have some long running subscriptions which renew on an annual basis. That means I will only be able to change my payment method in about 7 months time, whereby all my current subscriptions will come to a stop by virtue of bank account being closed in my country of origin.

Is there anyone who has been through the same and could advise if I can change the store and/or payment method without cancelling subscriptions ?

Kind regards

I keep seeing this problem. And, I have not seen a solution. Whatever the outcome, I suggest you back all of your iCloud data up too two sources, perhaps an external drive if you are able to and an alternative cloud, say DropBox Plus. In this regard, iCloud and iCloud Drive are syncing processes and not backup processes, per se. I would not take a chance on something coming up that would cause you to lose the related data.
