If you want to use Malwarebytes with Catalina, you need to use the appropriate version. However, I'd question whether you need to keep Malwarebytes permanently installed. I download the latest version about once a year (or if I think there's a problem) run it and then delete it. That way, I know I always have the most up-to-date version.

There should be no reason to keep it installed. If you need to clean up Adware that you installed, you should learn not to install adware. It is pretty simple to avoid. If you don't install it, you don't need to keep MBAM installed.
