How Do I Delete All Cached eMail Addresses

How do I rid of all cached eMail Addresses?

Every key (i.e. “c” or “@“) I press it tap (depends on the device) brings up an eMail I’ve eMailed in the past, whether it’s 2 hours ago, or two years ago. Some of whom I no longer know in person (i.e. a Craigslist eMail).

These eMail addresses are not in my contact list. So, I guess you’d call them cached eMail Addresses. So, how do I empty my cached eMail address so that they never pop up. All I want is the eMail I mean to eMai.

Hi TheLittles,

We understand you'd like to remove suggested email addresses.

You can do this by composing a new email > typing in the first letters of the email you wish to remove > once the email is suggested, click the 'i' icon to the right > then Remove from Recents.

Hope this helps!

Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.

Cheers!

Hello again TheLittles,

At this time, there is no way to complete this option en masse, recent emails will need to be removed individually.

Getting a new device will not make a difference if you restore from a backup.

However, if you Setup As a New Device, you should not see any more recent email addresses.

To retain the majority of your data, you can sync your content to a service such as iCloud, then erase your device and Setup As a New Device - all synced data will return, though you will need to re-download your apps and adjust your user settings to your preference.

Thanks again!

Thank you for a follow up reply.

Indeed I’ll set it up as a new Device, as I’m not all that concerned with losing data on it.

But, linking an iOS 13 Device with iCloud and Contacts enabled: Will that cause it all to sync? Just curious, prior to the iPhone upgrade.

BTW: I left Apple some feedback on this.

Submitted my Ticket for Support to the eMail Provider.

Told it is an issue with the Server Setting on the eMail Provider's side. We'll see where this all ends up - expect an other update on this.

Typing a character (letter or numbers) still is giving me hundreds of eMails that I've entered in the past - typically for those I would never eMail again (i.e. a craigslist eMail address).

Expect an update soon.
