My iPhone screen doesn’t show up on the tv when I connect it through the usb and hdmi cable. But when my husband does it, it works. So there is something wrong with my phone. Could it be something on settings that I need to change?

You'll find multiple troubleshooting steps there. You mentioned that your husband is able to make this work. Are you both using all of the same adapters and cables and TV with the only difference being the actual iPhone? Is this the Apple-branded adapter?
