I want to use my 2015 MBP with dual monitors in clamshell mode. I have an external USB keyboard, wireless mouse and an external hard drive as well. Just wondering whats the simplest, most elegant and somewhat cost effective dock/hub to do this, to use 1 Thunderbolt cable + charger?

not sure if theres any difference in the machines functionality/flexibility between USB-C and Thunderbolt. I bought a Caldigit TS2 thinking this would work to do it, but it wont support the HDMI > Thunderbolt 2. So back to the drawing board...
Caldigit docks do not play nice with Macs.
Can you recommend a specific product that would work well for this? It sounds like yours is designed to work with USB-C and mine is the previous iteration (USB2/3 and Thunderbolt 1/2)
I use an Elgato dock with my 2017 15” (needed one USC-C to HDMI adapter, IIRC). Works great. OWC docks also play nice with Macs.
