iPhone11 Video Saved As Black With Audio Only

Hello everyone, I’m looking for some help please!

I've taken a video with my iPhone11 and it’s saved in my galley as a jet black screen with audio only. It’s quite an important video for me but I can’t watch it back, I can only hear it! All other videos recorded within minutes of this one before and after have saved fine. There’s plenty of space left on the phone. I can’t open the video for editing? It won’t let me send the video on WhatsApp to see if someone else can view it. There’s zero info online with regards to what’s happened. I’m totally lost for ideas. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated, thanks guys!

Thanks for the response. We see the issue is persisting. If you haven't already, perform any available iOS updates.

Update your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch

If the device is updated and the issue is persisting, we recommend you Contact Apple Support for further troubleshooting.

Hi Michelle thanks for getting back to me. Unfortunately I’ve tried to restart the phone and the video remains the same - just a singular black video in the gallery and unable to edit or send it to anyone. I have logged onto iCloud and checked the videos and it’s not there either! If you have any other suggestions or ideas that would be great! Thank you

Hi TomHolland93,

Thanks for your post! We understand a video on your iPhone will fail to load and will produce an error when attempting to edit the video. Do you currently use iCloud Photos? If you haven't already, restart your iPhone.

Restart your iPhone

If you do currently use iCloud Photos, try logging on to iCloud and see if the video is able to be viewed.
