It sounds like this could be related to an Accessibility feature. Go to Settings > Accessibility > Assistive Touch and see if this feature is on. If it is, turn it off and see if this resolves the issue.
If that doesn’t help, check Zoom in the Accessibility features and turn that off if it’s enabled.
