Internet connection

When I am online, my MacBook Air continually kicks me off line. I have spoken with online techs multiple times and all the remedies tried have failed. I still get kicked off line every time I use the internet. There is no regularity or particular intervals to this problem.

MacBook Air 13″, macOS 10.15

Run EtreCheck and post the report here using the "Additional Text" icon which looks like a piece of paper.

Try booting into Safe Mode to see if you still have the issue.

Are you using WiFi or Ethernet?

Here is an Apple article for troubleshooting WiFi issues:

Try creating and using a new network location:

Or create a new user account. Log into the new user account to test your network connection.

If you are using WiFi, then try connecting the laptop directly to the router using a Thunderbolt to Gigabit Ethernet Adapter. If you have a USB-C laptop, then you will also need a USB-C to Thunderbolt adapter as well since Apple doesn't make a USB-C to Gigabit Ethernet Adapter although there are third party alternatives.

WiFi issues can be hard to troubleshoot so reboot your router. Give the router five minutes to reboot, then reboot your laptop and try getting online again. You can also access the WiFi connection by Option-clicking on the WiFi icon on the menubar. The signal (RSSI) should be somewhere between -35db to -60db while the Noise should be around -80db to -90db. Also see which protocol you are using and the transmit rate. Home appliances and your neighbor's WiFi can interfere with your connection making it difficult to troubleshoot. When you go offline, see if you can still see and/or connect to other network devices on your LAN such as a shared computer or accessing your routers administration login portal. If you can see and access devices on your LAN, the either you have a modem/ISP issue, external Internet issue, or you have software which is interfering or blocking websites.
