I can't remember my Screen Time passcode and am not able to reset it using my Apple ID and password. Any suggestions?

I'm trying to work on the Screen Time settings on our family iPad and apparently we already set a Screen Time code, which I can't remember. I've attempted to reset the passcode multiple times using my Apple ID and password but it won't work and I just get locked out for an hour. I tried to do a reset of the iPad and the Screen Time passcode was required to do the reset. I'm just running into one roadblock after another, any suggestions?

If you have forgotten the ScreenTime passcode, one of these two procedures should resolve the problem:

If your iPad is capable of supporting iPadOS 13.x, you should update to the most current version before attempting to resolve a forgotten ScreenTime passcode. The most recent iPadOS updates have introduced a new mechanism whereby a forgotten ScreenTime passcode can be reset without wiping the iPad.

To reset a forgotten ScreenTime passcode on older versions of iOS/iPadOS, the iPad must be reset “as new”, losing all locally stored data.
