why does QuickTime reset playback speed after pausing the video and how do i prevent that

I want to watch my videos on higher playback speed ik that you can do that with holding option and clicking on fast forward but the playback speed resets after pausing and playing again how do I prevent this i want QuickTime to play at the same playback that I set after pausing.

Is there anyway to do that or do i have to use third-party apps like vlc (ik other apps can do this).
