Automatic Backup to iCloud During Update?

Will a MacBook Air with this operating system automatically back up to the cloud during a software update?

MacBook Air 13″, OS X 10.11

Also note that Apple has iCloud Backup for iPhones and iPads but not for Macs.


It is possible to sync selected data from a Mac to iCloud, including Photos and Desktop and Documents but that is not the same as a backup. Major differences between syncing and backing up include the fact that it isn't possible to sync everything on your Mac; also, if you delete something that is synced, accidentally or otherwise, you have a limited time to recover it.
