apple id different from icloud email, what is my icloud password?

Greetings,

I created my Apple ID (gmail) a long time ago.

I then decided to create an iCloud email address but was never asked for a password.

I use Outlook to open my emails on my MAC, somehow I no longer can access my iCloud email as it is prompting me for a password. I tried using my Apple ID's password and it is not taking it.

How do I know what my iCloud password is, or how can I reset it if I was never asked to create a password?

Thank you for your help!

It is the same password, but you need an app specific password for Outlook, not just your Apple ID password..
