how to eject USB safely

I have been on hold for AppleCare for over one hour--how annoyed am I?

I want to eject a USB safely from my MacPro and I see no section under Finder for devices or showing anything relevant--it just has Favorites and documents and I Drive and Documents and tags for documents. Where the heck can I get it and then how do I deal with it?

Thanks for any and all help! And feedback to Apple--not very caring, keeping loyal customers on hold for so long. Shame on you.

To see your usb-stick or external drive in Finder:

in Finder, on the menubar, click on Finder, Preferences

  • click on the tab Navigationbar
  • select external drives

To eject a usb safely: an easy way is to just drag it to the trash. As soon as is disappears from the desktop, you can remove it
