Phone damage

Hello, my phone has stopped working when I placed in on my counter and I didn’t notice that water managed to get into the screen, the home button doesn’t work and the screen is black but I can still hear my calls and other notifications, is there any reason begins this?

You have several problems. You have possible water damage which will destroy your phone. You have the broken home button. And, you can’t turn it on. I would suggest getting an appointment at an Apple Store for an evaluation and be prepared to purchase an out of warranty replacement.
