Can't put my iphone 8 in recovery mode

Whenever i keep holding the side button while turning on, it will turn off again.

My phone is in a boot loop and im trying to get it out of it.

this link has instructions how to put your phone into recovery mode

It's not just the side button you have to use, the volume buttons as well
