software update 6.2.6

I have a apple watch series 2 and a iPhone series 8. When I try to install the latest update 6.2.6 I receive an error that the update cannot be completed. I have tried to delete the software on my phone as recommended in a tutorial, but that is failing too. Thoughts? Thanks!
