Why now FCP 10.4.8 on Catalina does not share Blu-Ray to disc or image?

Why has Apple decided to discontinue supporting FCP 10.4 share of projects to a Blu-Ray disc or even to create a Blu-Ray image of your projects? Is Apple not supporting this because not many customer use sharing to Blu-Ray disc or creating a Blu-Ray project image to a folder or file? I have tried a dozen times to share my project to a Blu-Ray disc and file image using the FCP 10.4 and it just hangs. The progress gets to 66% and then just stops with status saying waiting on creating the disc or something to that effect. This program has become worthless to me as a result. I think I will be going to Premiere.

FWIW, 66% is the point at which the encoding of the video is finished and the Create Disc application should launch - as the message suggests.

For reasons that are not totally clear, some times the Create Disc application fails to launch.

First, check if there is some issue with any images chosen for disc menu background etc (those that you may have selected under Settings in the export dialog). Maybe a corrupt image, or too big.

Second, you may put the Create Disc image in your Dock for easy access and manually start it before you export.

It is buried deep inside Final Cut Pro itself:

/Applications/Final Cut Pro.app/Contents/PlugIns/Compressor/CompressorKit.bundle/Contents/EmbeddedApps

You may open a new Finder window, press Command-Shift-G and paste the line above; then drag the Create Disc application to your Dock.

So you say you can share a project using Blu-Ray share on Final Cut Pro 10.4.8 using Catalina 15.5 with a 2019 MacBook Pro 16" display computer? Larry J. has published that it can't be shared which I found out after asking this question. Apparently, there is a bug in FCP 10.4.8 release.

I could not share a Blu-Ray image either. I did share it as a Master and then used Toast 18 to create a Blu-Ray disc with the Master being MP4 file. One of Larry Jordans' blog addressed the fact there is a bug in Final Cut Pro 10.4.8 that is causing the sharing processing to stop at 66% and the progress bar indicates it is waiting for the disc to be created. So I don't know what version of FCP X you have or which computer type. They did indicate that on a PC (not a Mac) it worked fine.

I have discovered that when the untitled BD.bdfp icons from a previous share to disc are on the desktop that the FCP 10.4.8 stops on a followup share to blu ray. If you right click and send to trash all of these icons and then insert a blu ray disc it will go ahead and write the disc. For some reason the program has a glitch that prevents a share to blu ray disc if this burn app part of FCP is still active from a previous burn. Just trash the left over icon Untitled BD. bdfp. Then when you insert the disk it creates another 3 Untitled BD disc icons on the desktop that is ok. You have to trash these if you wanted to start over sharing a project. When it does share a project a small page shows up to burn another disc of the same project if you desire. Otherwise click ok and no other burn takes place. Then the icon do stay on the desktop and will have to be trashed to do another share of a different project.

Why now FCP 10.4.8 on Catalina does not share Blu-Ray to disc or image?
