My iPad Air Mini is running really slow

My iPad Air Mini is running really slow. Does anyone have an idea on how to fix’s this. Shall I change the battery, will this help? I have cleaned up all my files and apps, still very slow. It takes forever to launch e.g. safari and surfing the web is a disaster.

Is your iPad an Air or a mini? It’s either one or other.

Try a forced-restart as performance may improve - and/or close some open Apps.

On an iPad with a Home button: Press and hold the top button and the Home button at the same time. When the Apple logo appears, release both buttons.
On an iPad with Face ID: Press and quickly release the volume up button, press and quickly release the volume down button, then press and hold the top button. When the Apple logo appears, release the button.
