My tv is connected to a denon AVR. Do I connect my Apple TV through the AVR or does it have to go directly to the tv?

Connect the Apple TV to the receiver. On my Onkyo I use the HDMI ARC input and then connect the reciever's HDMI TV output to the TV's HDMI input.
