Is "smartphone***settlement.***" legit for claiming 25$ settlement as an iphone 6/7 user?

I received an email titled as "Class Action Notice: In re Apple Inc. Device Performance Litigation" from Claims Administrator <DoNotReply@SmartphonP***Settlement.***> . This email ask me to file a claim for about 25$ settlement as an iphone 6/7 user on the website "smartphone***settlement.***". Is this a legit site or just a scam?

I was referring to the fact that I do not I've in CA. I misinterpret your post. Regardless, I have had two 6s plus's and a SE bought  bought before December 21, 2017 and was running all the current iOS platforms and still to this day. Passed the iPhones down to my kids after new iPhone purchases late last year and these iPhones are still at 100% bat health. Sent an objection letter to the address specified so we will see.!!!!

Perhaps you don't understand what this forum is for? Apple Support is not here, nor does Apple Support participate in this forum. This is a user to user only forum and it is one for users to help users with technical issues. I'm surprised the Forum Hosts have even left this thread up. You'd be SUPER wrong if you think Apple would even comment on a stupid class action lawsuit which is costing them significant money. Especially, when their only fault was not telling consumers, they were slowing their phones down to prevent them from crashing, if their battery was not in the best of health when the new 64 bit software was released.

You right, you right. I think the last time this happened I contacted customer support or something, but I can't remember. My accountant recommended a long time ago that when these things come up, you should do them because occasionally more money comes in. Most of the time it's for a couple bucks which mostly people wouldn't be bothered with. However opting out means forfeiting any future determinations that may happen. Anywho. Although believing Apple's version of that battery story is not my first inclination. Most businesses in general do not have your best interest. Yes they want a quality product, but designed obsolescence is a real thing.

now the deadline has past and I find out this is a legitimate lawsuit. I had asked at the Apple store and online about this because when I looked at applying I was asked for my serial numbers (I had 3 phones that were supposed to qualify) but then I was asked for my Apple ID log in info so I was concerned. When I spoke to anyone with Apple they constantly warned me against providing it.

Probably time to have your battery replaced, go to Settings > Battery > Health and check it. If it is 80% or less change it. For space you need to remove some items and that has nothing to do with the battery.

As to the smartphone settlement the deadline for filing a claim with the US District Court was October 6, 2020.

That unfortunate, but what does that have to do with the subject of this thread? If you purchased and used one of the qualifying phones in the United States and you filed your claim by October 6, 2020, you MAY be eligible for UP TO $25.

If you didn't buy and use one of the qualifying phones in the US and you didn't file a claim by the deadline, you won't get $25 even when the settlement proceeds are disbursed.

Well, you’re out of luck now. Lesson learned.

Is "smartphone***settlement.***" legit for claiming 25$ settlement as an iphone 6/7 user?
