Voice control turning on constantly when using earbuds after 13.5.1 update

I was searching this question for weeks on end until I saw a reply that said, ‘oh you didn’t mention you use an adaptor for the audio plug to a lightening connector‘. The voice control was driving me crazy!!!! What a bad design flaw or devious design to require users to get headphones/earbuds with lightening connector. So, I tried a pair of my sons-voila like magic. Bought my own pair with lightening connector and no more annoying voice control interruptions or mysterious calling of phone numbers from my contact list! Wish answer had been easier to find, so posting this with the hope that it helps others. I was ready to through my phone away and get an android!! Now I’ll keep my iPhone as long as another crazy situation doesn’t come up with the next upgrade.
